Hi Steve, Scott,
Any plans on fishing matches?
(or are you scared of getting beat by a coarse angler using borrowed gear)  Grin

Fished over high tide in the evening.
Had a smoothound ablout 6 pounds about 2 hours before high tide and also a keppable flounder.
A little weed about but not enough to stop me fishing.
Caught on peeler on 3/0 pulley rigs.

on tuesday night we set off to moggs eye to catch the 1am tide with scott from squids in. We arrived at 10pm and it wasnt long before we was into the fish we had twenty hounds up to 8lb between 5 of us there was also 6 flattys caught all hounds come on the flood and after the tide was turned there was no fish other than flattys. We fished from 10pm until about 5am.

On thursday me and 2 of my friends decided to head up the yorkshire coast to easington as we had a good session on the lincs coast on tuesday. On the second cast jamie one of my friends had a slack liner and this resulted in a 3.5lb bass next cast he had another good bite but lost the fish halfway in. After this we started to bring in quite a bit of red weed as we was fishing at distance when we casted closer in (around 40-50 yards) we stopped getting the weed but the bites had shyed down we had no more bites until around 4pm when i had a turbot it was only a few ounces but it was a fish that was it for bites and we packed up at 5-30 weather was great shame there wasnt many fish about. (we have pictures if anybody wishes to see them i will upload them)

Thanks for reading Danny

I thought that I would have a go down the Linc's coast to see if I could find any fish which have been rare sight for me recently!!.
So off I went, after it was suggested that I might try Moggs eye, it was a clear sunny day but  windy from the North East and the tide was running well. The surf was quite rough but not that bad I fished from half way up from high tide to the top and 2 hours down. Like Scott said there were some good gulley's and a steep shelf of about 8 to 10 feet. For the first 2 hours nothing not even a nibble then just as the tide was about to turn my rod went down with a bang, at first I thought a wave had caught my line but when I reeled in to my surprise I had a feisty 3lb 9oz Bass yippee there is life in our oceans. For the rest of my time on the beach I had 4 schoolies then it went quiet and then I thought it is time to see how England got on. The bass that I caught were on a pennel rig with 2/O hooks and crab for bait.

Cheers

Andy

After speaking with a mate of mine on the north bank I became aware that the sea was quite rough, so with that in mind my dad and I along with ash(aka jam surprise!!) decided to head down the lincs coast. We set off at 09:15 to give us plenty of time for having a scout around the various beaches at around low water. We dropped in at moggs eye and huttoft both looked good, but we thought we would carry on up to chapel point to have a bite at the cafe there. After some scran we decided to give huttoft a go as it was very steep and there were some big holes and gullies. While we were getting the gear out the weather was ok, slight breeze from the west straight over our backs and the sea was reasonably flat.

We hadn't been fishing long when the wind swung round to the south and the temp dropped, the sea also started building. It didn't seem to bother the holiday makers as the beach was scattered with dog walkers and mad kids swimming an surfing!!  After around 45 Min's I pulled in a little school bass and was hoping to see something a little larger. Weed was a big problem until about 1hour 30mins after low water, even at close range.

A few more hours went by and it was getting demoralising not seeing any bite or the bend of a rod due to a fish! I decided to use my spinning rod with a 2hook flapper on just to pick up a few school bass but even tho it looked bassy all I could muster was a decent size flounder.

We gave it until 6pm and called it a day, not the greatest day I've had but at least it gets u out the house!!

Regards, Scott.

Going up the lincs coast tommorrow probably moggs eye as it's by far the steepest beech along that stretch. Hoping to see a few smuts but a few bass would bs just as nice!! Leaving around 9am to have a good look round and hopefully get a good full days fishing in! Will post either tommorrow or Monday with report.

Cheers.

Wind from the north east a bit of surf on.
Started catching school bass about 2 hours before high at about 40-50 yards.
Landed 8 in total but missed more, largest was 3.5lb. Bites stopped over high tide and started again about an hour after.
Only seemed to be taking peeler.
A good session.
Top quality bait from Squids In.
