The whole idea idea of a longer rod more or less came from Mackellow. He realised there wasnt a chance of him moving a shorter rod as fast Paul Kerry,...well who could?... so tried a longer rod which gave a faster tipspeed then he could have generated using a shorter rod.  Id say that Mackellow used a far greater rod arc as well. Some rods...like the Zziplex Quattra need to be 'wound' up first. Mackellow used a version of that rod. The Zziplex Bullet on the other hand was more of a hit it as hard and as soon as you can. So...in a way you are right. Some of the better casters make it look easy...lazy even because they cast to slowly.

took my friend today!he came away with a penn powerstix and 525 mag, 2 reels of shockleader and line, and he managed to get a hat and reel cover out of them!its hard work comunicating with 3 people.especially when my friend is deaf!after a lot of confusion with wrong price and description tags he decided on this deal.seems like a good rod, bends nicely and is really light.
i looked at the sandstorm but to my annoyance its a 2 piece rod.....cant get them in the back of the landy! Lips sealed Lips sealed

in the end i didnt come away with a rod........................but decided on a new reel a penn 525 mag to go with my penn seatrek rod.i do get on with this rod so well have to see how i get on with this combination

well ready for the match now!
