General Information

A popular venue on the Humber south bank is Goxhill. Not only is this mark right on our doorstep, this can be a very good mark for bigger Cod in the colder seasons & the occasional Bass.

    This stretch of the Humber bank covers approximately 3 miles. You can fish anywhere along the bank waking left or right. Not really known as a distance casting venue the fish at Goxhill can often be very close in but be aware of some rough ground.

    Residential parking is available nearby; please be considerate of local residents and keep driveways and access routes clear. Once parked on ferry road, a public footpath leads you straight onto the raised embankment, where several bays are spaced along the bank. During the winter months, you may need to walk a little further to find an unoccupied spot.

    Seasonal Patterns of River Humber Fish Species
      The cod fishing season in the Humber generally peaks during the colder months, with the best fishing occurring from October through to March. Depending on the time of the year, this mark is capable of producing cod more commonly on the ebb.
       
      Flounder fishing from this mark is generally productive year-round, but the peak season for catching larger flounder is from late autumn through the winter, particularly from September to February. During these months, they are actively feeding.

      There’s residential parking on Ferry Road however be mindful of the residents who live there. This venue has a firm, level path along the bank but be prepared to walk a distance depending on the time of the year as in winter months it can be busy.

      Not on the main wall—most of the bank dries out at low tide.
