General Information

    This particular venue is referred to as “The North Wall”, “Grimsby Wall” “Fuller Street” “Suggitts Lane” & Grimsby Seafood Village. It sits between the boundary of Grimsby & Cleethorpes. Access is via Suggitts Ln off Cleethorpe Road, with residential parking available on Suggitts Lane itself. Once parked, you head over a pedestrian foot bridge crossing a railway line at the top of Suggitts Lane, then proceed to the sea bank wall. The best window is around two hours either side of high water, when slack tides hold fish close to the wall.

    Access to the portion of the wall behind The Grimsby Seafood Village can be hit & miss. According to ABP – There is no public right of way on the land, but previously access had been allowed as “goodwill gesture”, ABP said. However, the port operator first blocked the route in 2020, citing “antisocial behaviour from a minority of people”.

    This is a very popular spot for anglers who struggle with mobility and don’t drive.  The newly developed Suggitts Ln Railway bridge allows disabled access. 

    Not on the main wall—most of the bank dries out at low tide.

    General rule of thumb, for bigger tides head for the lower numbered bays. On smaller tides head for the higher numbered bays. 

    Fish can be found anywhere from 10–20 yards out to beyond 100 yards; the trick is to vary your casting distance until you locate a good tide run.
