- Freshly dug – Quality natural sea fishing bait.
- Blast frozen – Helps preserve the bait after preparation.
- Carefully wrapped – Supplied in traditional newspaper wraps.
- Versatile bait – Suitable for fishing on its own or combining with squid.
Furthermore, frozen black lugworm is a practical option for anglers who want bait available without relying on freshly dug stock for every trip.
What Fish Can You Catch with Black Lugworm?
Black lugworm is a popular natural bait for several UK sea fish.
- Cod and codling – Particularly popular for autumn and winter beach fishing.
- Bass – Also used for shore fishing during warmer months.
- Whiting – A useful natural bait for lighter shore rigs.
- Flounder and other flatfish – Suitable for estuary and coastal fishing.
However, the best bait presentation will depend on the species, fishing mark and conditions.
How to Fish with Frozen Black Lugworm
First, allow the required bait to thaw sufficiently for safe handling and presentation.
Next, thread the black lugworm carefully onto a suitable hook or baiting needle. Depending on your target species, you can use a single worm or combine several worms for a larger bait.
Alternatively, try combining black lugworm with squid to create a lugworm and squid cocktail. This is a popular bait combination for cod fishing.
How Many Black Lugworms Are in a Wrap?
Each wrap contains at least 10 black lugworms.
The worms are approximately 8 inches long. However, sizes can vary because they are a natural product.
