Our Frozen Illex Squid is supplied unwashed, helping it retain its natural oils and strong, distinctive scent. With individual squid measuring approximately 9–12 inches, Illex provides a substantial and versatile bait that can be fished whole or prepared into strips and sections to suit a wide range of presentations.

The naturally firm texture of Illex Squid makes it particularly useful when a durable bait presentation is required. It holds well on the hook, withstands casting and can be used throughout the year for both shore and boat fishing. Use it on its own, as a larger whole bait, or combine it with Lugworm, Ragworm and other baits to create an effective cocktail.

Suitable for targeting a wide range of species, including Rays, Bass, Bream, Bull Huss, Cod, Conger, Dogfish, Ling, Skate, Smooth Hounds, Spurdog and Whiting, Illex Squid is an extremely versatile bait to keep ready in the freezer.
